Jaguar Parade and Agendi join forces in REDD project to offset CO2 emissions and combat deforestation

Jaguar Parade is an art exhibition to draw attention to nature conservation, particularly focused on jaguars. Besides portraying the beauty and advocating for the conservation of this majestic species and its habitat, Jaguar Parade is also concerned with minimizing potential environmental impacts the exhibition may cause, always striving for ecological balance.

Greenhouse Gas  emissions in the atmosphere have a significant impact on the environment, including climate change and pose a threat to various plant and animal species. Greenhouse gases contribute to global warming and can devastate biodiversity, climate, and human health.

With this in mind, for our first international edition, Jaguar Parade NYC 2022, we partnered with Agendi to offset our current GHG impact. Learn more about our partner and check out the results of the project we participated in!

About Agendi 

Agendi is a company specialized in sustainability and socio-environmental responsibility consulting. Their main mission is to unlock business and leadership potential to drive climate and sustainability actions. They offer various services to help companies transition to a more sustainable, low-carbon economy.

Agendi helped us calculate the carbon dioxide emissions caused by the exhibition and offset them through projects that help reduce carbon emissions. This calculation took into account production, local and international logistics, team and artist travel, and even transportation and food related to the opening events of the exhibition. Jaguar Parade and The REDD Project 

REDD projects (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation) are crucial to global efforts to mitigate climate change. The goal is to prevent additional CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere. This is achieved through improved land management and rigorous monitoring and enforcement.

The project also employs and adequately trains local residents to carry out monitoring and enforcement activities. Located in Pará, Brazil, the REDD Project supported by Jaguar Parade protects native forests from deforestation and improves land management processes.

The objective is to halt deforestation on privately-owned parcels totaling 177,899 hectares on the edge of deforestation frontier in Brazil. In addition to avoiding emissions, the project has numerous additional benefits, including increased biodiversity and improved local air and water quality.
